Market Your eBook: Resources You Can Use

Mitch Woodhead

June 11, 2014

No eBook author can be successful tackling the marketing of their eBook on their own. In fact, the most successful authors know when to say, “This isn’t my specialty.” Those indie authors who recognize that they are great at writing but that doesn’t make them great at proofreading their own work, designing their own covers, or marketing their own eBooks are much more likely to have success. While there are a number of free places you can market your eBook, there are some that can be worth the investment to pay for promotions. We’ve compiled a group of options ranging from the very inexpensive to the budget-for-this-one options that can help you get traction with your sales and more visibility for the eBook you worked so hard to write. If you try any of these, we’d love to know how they work for you! askDavid.com ($15) The great thing about askDavid is that he has a huge following on Twitter and your investment can be used for multiple book titles. ebookbooster   ($40) This is a promotional service that lists your eBook on 50 different eBook promotion sites. At less than a $1 a site, it seems like a good value for the money. BookBub ($260) While this is one of the more expensive options, it has some of the best feedback from authors who have used it. BookDaily ($49) BookDaily offers very good reach for the price, plus you can guest blog for them for additional exposure. Fussy Librarian ($6) While your eBook has to meet certain criteria, like having a specific number of reviews, once you have reached that criteria, you can’t beat the price of this service. Free & Discounted Books ($5-45+) There are a variety of services available here, from social media blasts to sidebar ads that could potentially improve your visibility. World Literary Cafe   ($25) World Literary Café offers home page features for the rate of $25 per day. This is a highly-trafficked site that may be worth testing. Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook if you try or have tried any of these services. If you know of other book promo sites that would benefit indie authors, please share them with us.
