So many times we hear people say, “I would write an eBook if only I had the time.” But what we know from some of our most successful eBook authors is that there is no way to ever be successful as an author if you don’t make the time to write. If you don’t believe you have time in your life to write your eBook, consider areas where you can create time to write (even 15 minutes a day can be enough to write an eBook in less than six months).
Turn Off the TV
Television is one of the biggest time thieves out there; watching TV not only keeps you from writing your eBook, but in all likelihood, it probably also dims your creative spirit. The average American spends 34 hours – THIRTY-FOUR – watching TV each week. That’s almost the equivalent of a full-time job. Even if you only watch an hour or two a day, consider skipping a few of your favorite shows, and spend that time at the keyboard instead and start writing your eBook.
Get Up Earlier
What would happen if you had 15-20 quiet minutes to yourself every morning – before your kids are up, before the demands of the day start – to focus on writing? Is it possible that your ability to think creatively about your eBook would be easier? Try setting your alarm 20 minutes earlier than normal (or, if you’re a night owl, pencil in 20 minutes in the evening) that is just yours.
Spend Less Time Online
The average adult spends almost 12 hours online each day. Disconnect for even a fraction of that (how much time do you waste on Facebook?) and you’ll see that you can carve out a few minutes each day for writing your eBook.
