Write Your First eBook, Part 2: Tell Your Story

Mitch Woodhead

March 14, 2014

Have you ever had the perfect story in mind but every time you sit down to write your eBook, it’s as if your mind goes blank? You may have trouble forming a connection between your brain and your fingers, thereby blocking the story up inside you. You may benefit from freestyle writing exercises.  Luckily, however, the act of writing is not the only way to get your story out. You may be the kind of person who needs to record your eBook and have it transcribed. If it’s easier for you to tell people about your eBook ideas than it is to write them down, then recording your story may be the best way for you to see your words in print. While that may seem ironic, it’s actually a very cost-effective way to transform your ideas into eBooks. Whether you carry around a mini-cassette recorder (yes, they still make them) or use your digital device or computer, there are options for recording your ideas without having to write them down. The great thing about recording your eBook (or even your ideas for eBooks) is that you can capture the ideas as quickly as they come to mind and not simply hope that you’ll remember them later when you have the chance to write them down. After you’re done recording either the whole eBook or a section you’re working on, you can then transcribe your oral notes or hire a transcriptionist to help. This is an effective method to use with ghostwriters as well.
